Skincare should be simple and honest. Good for your skin but also for the environment.
We do not use artificial fragrance or preservatives in our products. Our essential oils are steam distilled and cold pressed, and come from reputable providers. That's why you will never see "apple/mango/blackberry essential oil" or "vanilla essential oil" listed in our ingredients - these things do not exist. Synthetic ingredients are not necessarily bad, but they do not offer the same therapeutical benefits of natural oils.
All ingredients can be found listed underneath the product descriptions. We have undergone cosmetic safety assessments to comply with EU regulations.
Ethical and Cruelty-Free
Our products are 100% vegetarian, and some are vegan (soaps, oils, compostable lip balms and tints). The mica powder we use in soaps and lip tints have been ethically sourced and are vegan friendly (no crushed beetles!). We have never and will never test on animals.
We believe in a transparent supply chain. That's why 100% of our ingredients, product packaging and shipping materials are sourced from Irish and UK suppliers with preference to those with a clear stance on fair trade and environmental policy. We choose organic where we can, but often it makes more sense for us to buy local than from a business halfway across the world.
Aiming for Zero Waste
In 2019 we reached a major milestone: 100% of our shipping materials are now recyclable and/or re-used, and the majority is completely plastic-free. The boxes are recyclable cardboard, the fillers are biodegradable pellets, the tape is recyclable paper.
Our lip balm tins have always been aluminium - one of the materials that are the most efficient to recycle. Some contain an EPE liner to protect the product which has to be recycled separately, but it's significantly less plastic than a commercial lip balm - not to mention our lip balms contain at least twice as much product as a "normal" balm! Glass bottles and droppers can be easily cleaned and re-used.
