DIY Coffee Face + Body Scrub Recipe

Pamper your skin with this easy DIY coffee body scrub!

When I saw this recipe by Isabelle (@miss.misty on Instagram), I had to ask if I could share it on the blog. It features our face oil for dry and sensitive skin with organic rosehip and jojoba oil, but you can also substitute it with any carrier oil of your choice.

A body scrub exfoliates your skin by removing dead skin cells, leaving it soft and smooth.

All you need to make your own luxurious body scrub is something exfoliating (such as ground coffee or sugar) and and a good skin care oil. I recommend following a scrub treatment with either a facial oil, your favourite cream lotion, or a lotion bar rub to leave your skin silky smooth and hydrated.

Ingredients

•  1/4 cup (0.6dl) of ground coffee
•  1/4 cup (0.6dl) of organic coconut oil
• 1/8 cup (0.3dl) of granulated sugar
•  4 oz (120ml) wide-mouth jar
•  10 drops of My Fair Lady Face Oil or Face Oil Sampler*

*You can also replace this with a blend of your own carrier oils and/or essential oils. Please exercise caution as some essential oils might be harmful when not diluted properly. Always consult a healthcare professional if you are pregnant or nursing.

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir until well blended. Transfer  the contents to wide-mouth jar.
  2. To use, scoop scrub out of jar with a spoon and apply to skin using gentle circular motions. Let it sit for a few minutes to let your skin absorb the oil.
  3. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
