Master Gardener's Hand Balm
A soothing and vegan-friendly balm for hard-working hands.
An all-purpose herbal hand balm for gardeners, reckless adventurers, and caretakers of magical creatures. Scented with a clean, refreshing blend of tea tree, yarrow and frankincense.
Use to soothe and aid in recovery of
- Cracked skin and dry hands
- Small cuts
- Bug bites
- Mild skin irritations
Compared to our lip balms, this has a softer consistency (like a salve). Only a small amount is needed for application as it is richer than normal lotions and cream. Comes in a practical metal tin perfect for carrying around, whether your journey goes to Mount Doom or an intergalactic mining outpost.
The salve contains botanical extracts from St. John’s wort and yarrow which have been used for natural wound treatment for centuries due to their anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It was said that the Greek hero Achilles used yarrow on the wounds of his injured soldiers, hence its Latin name "Achillea Millefolium". The clean herbal scent comes from essential oils of tea tree and frankincense, known to be beneficial to the skin.
How to use
Massage sparingly into skin or hands. Great for overnight application. Test the ointment on a patch of skin before any liberal applications.

This must be the stuff that hobbits all over rave about when they’re not running off on perilous journeys! I don’t garden but I do have dry hands and psoriasis and both thanked me for this balm.
Its been my first time to order and I got the Master Gardener Herbal Hand Balms because I really struggle with dry hands.
I wasnt sure about the product but I got totally surprised by the quality when it finally reached me. Its a high quality product, smelling nice and really helping my hands being moisturised!
I really love it ( also because its literary inspired!!) and highly recommend it for dry hands!
This balm is my best friend. I'm a nurse and my hands get really sore due to stress, frequent handwashing, alcohol gel, massive use of disposable gloves...
I've tried many products and this is one of the best. It softens, calms, heals and repairs.
My hands were very inflamed and affected by small cuts and dry patches when I stated to use it. Now they feel and look a lot better!
Also this balm is vegan and it smells amazing. It reminds me the magic of entering the old fashioned herbalist shops in Italy, my home country.
Thank you so much Literary Lip Balms ❤️
In my head, this is a salve that Rosie made for Samwise Gamgee before he left with Frodo, and which kept his hands as soft as his heart. Climbing up Mount Doom was no easy feat, but even back in the Shire, I am sure gardening took its toll on his hands.
But don't worry, you don't have to go on a life-threatening adventure for this balm to do wonders for your hands, it has already revitalized my cracked and dry skin, and my adventuring is mainly dishwashing and papercuts. Treat yourself to this balm for when the road is long and hard and you need something good.
I'm not a gardener (i wish though - maybe a plant could survive for once then) but i get those little papercuts all over my hands that BURN and this balm is so soothing on them!
I'm also a nail-biting person which means my fingers hurt 24/7 - i used it on that too and it helped them heal much quicker!
so basically it became a little life-saver for all kinds of injuries plus i LOVE the scent!
Great to just throw into your bag too cause it's nice and small but lasts forever cause you just need a timy bit!
I was lucky enough to spy this beauty in my mailbox right after getting home from the garden. My hands were thiiiirsty after playing in all that dirt and then scrubbing them like crazy to get the mud off. This hand balm remoisturized my hands within seconds and after an hour I completely forgot how dry my hands had been! Normally I avoid tea tree scents because they're a bit strong for me but this is just the right amount.
More importantly though, I got this specifically for my boyfriend, who has bad eczema on his hands. He also gardened with me that day and upon putting it on it only took about 10 minutes before his hands felt sooooo soft. Usually they're quite scratchy or, even worse, scratchy and oily because the products he uses are greasy! It's only been a few days but I'm looking forward to seeing how using this balm over time will affect his skin. Signs point to hope so far!
